When you took the incarnation as Hari, you rescued the elephant from the crocodile.
You became Hansa to give knowledge to Brahma and Narada.
As Dhanvantari you removed disease and extended life.
Taking the incarnation of Vyas, you composed the single Veda into four.
You took the form of Narada and taught the Sattvata doctrine of pure devotion.
Taking so many incarnations, you delivered countless souls.
As Murari, the Fish, you brought back the Vedas, slaying Shankhasura.
Becoming the Tortoise, unfathomable one, you bore Mount Mandara on your back.
Taking the form of the compassionate Boar, you held up the earth from the depths.
As Nrisimha, Nath, you slew Hiranyakashipu with your hands.
You cared for and protected Prahlad, granting relief to your devotee, merciful one.
Taking the form of Vaman, Maharaj, you tricked King Bali to reclaim Indra's realm.
Taking the incarnation of Parashuram, you slew the Kshatriyas twenty-one times over.
As Ram you became king and slew Ravana, binding a bridge across the ocean.
Taking the incarnation of Krishna, you performed deeds beyond measure: you slew Putana, broke the cart, and slew the fierce Trinavarta.
You uprooted the twin Arjuna trees, slew Vatsasura and split open Bakasura's beak.
You subdued Kaliya and swallowed the forest fire, and slew the wicked Dhenukasura.
You became a young calf, and even Brahma was fooled, unable to comprehend it.
You held up the mountain and broke Indra's pride, and freed Nanda from Varuna's serpent-noose.
You slew Shankhachuda, the bull-demon, and Keshi, and slew the hateful Vyomasura.
You slew Kansa, that portion of the demon, and slew the mighty Aghasura.
You slew Kalayavan, Jarasandh, Bana, and Bhauma, that great sinner.
You slew Shalva and Shishupal, and slew Dantavakra, merciful one.
Thus, in the incarnation of Krishna, you slew many wicked ones at that time; performing the deeds of the moon of Gokul, you gave joy to your own devotees.
Taking the incarnation of Buddha, you saw boundless sin upon the earth; you slew demons and awakened many souls, delivering them across at once.
Seeing countless heretics upon the earth, you shall take the Kalki incarnation.
In the beginning, middle, and end, all incarnations are certainly your own.
Whatever deeds have been done upon this earth, all of these, Maharaj, are yours.
Whatever shall happen, and whatever is happening now, all of it is by your will.
Therefore we bow, we bow to you, Nath — by great fortune we have met you."
Thus they offered praise with folded hands, and then Nath spoke with his own sacred mouth: "Whatever you have said, I have heard with my own ears.
But I have done none of these things — how did you come to know me as Bhagwan?"
