After that, listen, all you sadhus, to what happened next: after some days, the spring season arrived beautifully.
There was a foremost satsangi merchant at Sundariyana, wise and worldly-wise yet also renounced, a fine devotee — what praise can I give him?
Blessed is that devotee, indifferent to worldly life, who broke with everyone to worship the imperishable one.
Hearing of his true devotion, all his relatives and family rose up in anger, saying, "We are Vaishnavas — we worship the lineage of Vallabha.
What deficiency did you see in that, that your mind has settled on a new faith?"
Then the satsangi replied, "How can you call this a new faith?
It is an ancient and eternal dharma, which everyone follows according to scripture's bounds.
As for us, we have no standing at all, as you know and I know too — desire, anger, greed, and delusion, these have drowned everyone.
What the Gita calls the gates of hell — in these you all remain immersed; that is what I found, and that is why my mind settled on satsang."
Hearing this, his relatives and family all together took an oath: "We shall have no dealings with him — from today, cast him out of the caste."
Six years passed after this, yet they did not let go of their resentment; when his father went to heaven, they did not invite him or notify him for the ceremonies.
Then the merchant, a devotee of Hari — Vano Punjo — came to Prabhuji and made this petition to Hari: "Prabhu, please come, Lord of life, bringing the whole company and sadhus with you, come, Nath."
Then, taking the sadhus with him, Shyam, Hari, came to the village of Sundariyana.
All the people of Ayodhya were with him too, and Prabhu came with great enthusiasm; singing and talking, they brought him to their home and served him in every good way.
A fine meal with many dishes was prepared, and Hari ate it with great love; then, taking sweet laddus, Nath fed the people, going among them himself.
He offered them abundantly, going round the row five times.
Thus Nath fed them daily, and the people ate from Hari's own hand.
He gave darshan again and again, the exceedingly gracious Beloved being pleased; many questions and answers took place, and the sadhus performed the raas dance and sang songs.
Then Vasant Panchami arrived, pleasing and beneficial to all; abundant colored powder and gulal were brought, and, taking a tray, the Beloved rose.
He threw color, playing with his companions, and the Beloved became greatly drenched in color; then, taking a bag of gulal, he threw it, playing Holi.
Having played with color, they came to their lodging, and garments were given to the people then.
He himself ate and fed the people, giving his devotees great joy.
Having held the festival in this way, the merciful one came to Bhensajal; staying the night, Shyam departed and came to Nagadaka in Loya village.
From there, the greatly renowned one came to Botad, and the sadhus and Swami himself ate there.
Then Govind came to Gadhada, giving joy to all his devotees.
After some more days, Life set out for the Gujarat region, making camp at every stage as the beautiful Shyam went along.
The merciful one came to Ahmedabad, bringing the whole assembly of devotees with him; all the satsangis came for the festival, forming a splendor beyond description.
Instruments of many kinds played there, and people came for darshan; people of all four life-stages and all four castes came for darshan, men and women alike.
Singing and talking, Maharaj arrived, to accomplish many people's purposes; he came and lodged in the temple, where Nar-Narayan reigns.
Satsangis and Sankhyayogis, sadhus, devotees and Bhagwan all lodged there; a fine, good meal was prepared, and Life ate, pleased with the people's devotion.
Then the support of life slept; the wise one awoke happily in the morning.
Prabhuji awoke at daybreak, and the merciful one performed his daily rites there.
Then a platform was arranged in the courtyard, and he came and sat upon it; he looked with nectar-filled eyes, and the people's bodily suffering dissolved.
Then the people brought many kinds of worship offerings, for the sake of worshipping Prabhu; with these they worshipped the support of life, and placed fine garlands about his neck.
Fragrant rose flowers, and priceless bouquets and garlands — these they offered onto Hari's body, then fell at his feet with enthusiasm.
Thus the people took this experience again and again, and he gave them fine darshan daily.
Also the people of the city came, to have darshan of the treasury of grace; some came and asked questions, and Life gave the answers.
Hearing the answers, they rejoiced, and, filled with wonder, went home.
Thus the Beloved performed these pastimes, the playful, charming, garlanded one; wearing incomparable garments on his body, with a saffron spring turban on his head, he gave such darshan, the merciful one, and the devotees were overjoyed.
As seven days passed in this way, the day of Hutashani arrived.
Then abundant colors were called for, saffron, crimson, and rose-colored; his companions brought it and gave it to Hari by hand, and Nath poured it over all his companions.
Then gulal was thrown on top, and all the companions became red with it; just as a lotus blossoms fully, so shone the assembly of sadhus.
In the midst, like the pod of a lotus, sat the merciful one, with his companions like the surrounding petals shining round him.
Thus Nath played with his companions, and the people there became fulfilled.
Instruments played there abundantly, and all the men and women cried "victory!"
Then Nath departed to bathe, taking all his companions and devotees with him; having bathed, Maharaj went to the elder's house, gave darshan, and returned at once.
Coming, he sat on a high seat, giving darshan to all the people.
Thus the night passed, and he slept happily and awoke the next morning.
Having brushed his teeth and bathed, the merciful one ate a meal, the people having prepared it with love.
Then the people were fed as well; a meal of ghevar sweets had been made.
It was passed around the row five times, offered again and again with great insistence.
Thus the festival was held in joy, and then Hari departed from there.
Maharaj came to Asalali, bringing the devotees of Hari and the sadhus with him; a fine, good meal was prepared, and Nath ate and fed the people.
Blessed, blessed is the devotee Venibhai, whose love for Prabhu is exceedingly great; having fulfilled his heartfelt wishes, Hari then departed from there.
In Jetalpur village lived the devotees, Asaji and others, pure of heart; Govind came to his house, bringing his companions and the assembly of devotees with him.
There the devotee prepared a meal, and Nath ate together with his companions.
Then, taking the whole assembly with him, Maharaj came to Memdavad; staying the night, he came to Vartal, to perform extraordinary pastimes there, the beloved darling.
He held a festival there lasting a fortnight, keeping the sadhus with him out of pure grace; he gave darshan daily, being Bhagwan with great love.
Many questions and answers took place, and his blissful form gave happiness.
He said, "Whoever has met Bhagwan, no obstacle can ever afflict them.
Just as lightning striking the earth never turns back its blow, so should the person who has met Prabhu remain always without doubt in their heart."
He spoke of such matters at length, and hearing them the people were overjoyed.
Then the day of the festival arrived, and many people came for darshan.
Ramnavami and Ekadashi — the festival was held with joyful enthusiasm; the Brahmins chanted Vedic verses, and offerings were made in the sacrificial fire with clarified oblations.
Having held the festival according to Vedic rite, gifts were then given with great joy: horses with saddles, hides and swords were given, along with buffaloes with their calves; cows with calves were given, draped with blankets, along with priceless saffron-colored garments; golden threads and silver coins were given, and the Brahmins were greatly pleased.
Having held the festival in this joy, Hari then departed from there.
Nath came into the Panchal region, bringing all his own devotees with him.
It had fallen to Brahmanand's lot to bear a certain burden, and he was made to give it up; cutting the bonds of the unbound, he was given service close to the Master himself.
Thus, happy among the happy, on the beautiful Ekadashi in the bright half of Chaitra, the imperishable one held the festival, performing these pastimes as told here.
