- ચકલો. | ( પુરાણ ) ચક્ષુર્મનુને વડ્વલાને પેટે થયેલો એક પુત્ર. | તપ કે વ્રત કરનારો તાપસ; તપોધન; ઋષિ; યોગી. ગીતા રહસ્યમાં આ સંબંધે ઉલ્લેખ છે કેઃ તપસ્વી લોક કરતાં કર્મયોગી શ્રેષ્ઠ છે. એ શ્લોકમાં તપસ્વી એટલે અરણ્યમાં જઈ ઉપોષણાદિ કાયકલેશકર વ્રતોથી હઠયોગનાં સાધનોથી સિદ્ધિ મેળવવાનો યત્ન કરનાર લોકો એવો અર્થ છે; અને સામાન્ય રીતે પણ આ શબ્દની આ જ અર્થ છે. | તપસોમૂર્તિ નામના ઋષિનું બીજું નામ. | રૂદ્ર સાવર્ણિ મન્વંતરમાં થનારા સપ્તર્ષિ માંહેનો એક ઋષિ. | શિવનાં હજાર માંહેનું એક નામ. | ગરીબ. | તપ કરનાર.
