Or to have the most affection for the form of God, that is devotion. Such a characteristic of devotion will be described later.
Lord Krishna resided mostly in these four places: Vraj, Mathura, Dwarka, and Hastinapur.
The greatest affection of its male and female residents for Shri Krishna has been described.
In it, the affection of the residents of Vraj is described in such a way that, 'O Nandji, all of us residents of Vraj have immense affection for your son Shri Krishna, an affection that cannot be broken.'
And Krishna also has an unbreakable love for us, what could be the reason for that?
The affection of the residents of Mathura is also described in a similar way: the people of Mathura were sad for many days due to not seeing Shri Krishna and Balramji. Seeing them arrive, the people were immersed in joy.
As if they had found their lost treasure again. The love of the residents of Dwarka is shown in such a way
that the Yadavas, whose minds were absorbed in the form of Shri Krishna, could not even recognize themselves in all these activities like sleeping, sitting, roaming, talking, playing, or bathing.
The affection of the residents of Hastinapur and the Pandavas for Shri Krishna's form is described here: when the brave Pandavas saw that the Lord of all, Shri Krishna, had arrived, just as all the senses become active with the flow of life force, they all stood up at once.
Naradji has also said that the devotion of the Pandavas was full of affection.
that the Gopis connected their minds to Shri Krishna's form through desire, Kansa through fear, kings like Shishupala through hatred, Yadavas through relationship, you through affection, and we through devotion.
The Pandavas had more affection for Shri Krishna, which is why when they heard about Shri Krishna's disappearance, they immediately renounced their kingdom, family, and everything else, and went to the Himalayas. Such is the description.
Accordingly, when God resided in these four places: Vraj, Mathura, Dwarka, and Hastinapur, the residents of those places had the utmost affection for the form of God, and this has been extensively described in this Tenth Canto.
In short, that is why this Tenth Canto is called Bhakti Shastra.
Through its examples and illustrations, it is a scripture of devotion.
It doesn't really give steps or anything like that for devotion.
It directly gives such examples that it is considered a scripture of devotion based on them.
Vyasa Bhagavan has said, 'Yad vastu nitaraamapya.'
Hey, unfortunate people everywhere, like that.
Yad vastu nitaraamapya
So, it's not all the Yadavas; it's Lord Shri Krishna, Uddhavji, and all those, right?
He had such affection for him.
When God comes, it's not like the whole world becomes devoted to God.
But he has given examples of those who are devoted to him.
There were Pandavas, but there were only five Pandavas. There were 100 Kauravas, so they didn't have much affection for God.
So, whoever had affection for God
He was in these places.
Its description is given in this Bhagavata.
These are examples of yoga.
What is the principle of yoga?
If one transgresses the boundaries set by God, no matter how great they are, they will stumble.
And if one stays within the boundaries set by God, no matter how lowly they are, they will attain God's abode.
This yoga and its strict exposition are given in the Fifth Canto.
He has described it, he has expounded it.
So that is our yoga, the yoga shastra, the Fifth Canto is the yoga shastra.
In the Fifth Canto, the true nature of devotion is described in the Narada Bhakti Sutra.
And the true nature of yoga is described in the Yoga Sutra.
In that, you go step by step.
What to do first, then what to do, then what to do.
In that way, the nature of devotion is described in the Bhakti Sutra.
And in the Yoga Sutra, the nature of yoga is described.
In this, the ultimate.
Its deadline was set that such devotion should be.
It came yesterday, didn't it?
What is devotion?
To be completely absorbed in God.
The Gopis did that.
And their stories appear in the Tenth Canto of the Bhagavata.
That is why it is the Bhakti Shastra.
And the principle of the Yoga Sutra is that no matter how great one is.
And no matter how high one's status, if they break the boundaries set by God, they will stumble.
No one can come to save him.
No one can intervene.
Such is the principle of the Yoga Sutra.
Bharataji did not know day from night in his devotion to God.
Whether the day has risen or set now.
If he sits down to worship in the morning, even in the evening he feels that the sun has risen now.
Such was his state.
But if he missed a little rule.
Then Lord Rishabhdev was his father, he had renounced the kingdom of the earth.
Still, he stumbled for three births.
So God's boundaries are so strong.
Nishkulanand Swami has written that one who transgresses the mountain-like command.
It is a mountain in the form of a command.
No one can remain secure by transgressing it.
That is the strong rule of the Yoga Sutra.
And its description is given in the Fifth Canto.
So that is our Fifth Canto, it is the Yoga Shastra.
In the Fifth Canto, the principles of Yoga Shastra are clearly expounded.
Therefore, it is called Yoga Shastra.
The original preceptor of Yoga Shastra was Hiranyagarbha.
He said that establishing the mind's tendencies in the form of Lord Shri Narayana is yoga.
He had expounded his principle.
We have clearly stated the principle of that Yoga Shastra in the Fifth Canto.
Such as,
O Yogeshwar, Lord Brahma, Hiranyagarbha, has shown the most special skill of yoga practice.
That at the time of death, a human being should abandon body-consciousness and, with devotion, connect their mind to your form, which is devoid of material qualities and endowed with divine qualities.
That is why in the Gita also, God gave such a definition of yoga.
Yoga is skill in action.
What is yoga?
So, do not let the mind wander outside of God.
To acquire such a skill.
And to acquire it while performing actions.
Not by sitting.
Yoga is skill in action.
Yoga in action, that is skill.
To keep the mind attached to God while performing actions.
That is called skill.
That is skill.
Skill in yoga.
So, God has called it Yoga.
And these are all the principles of Yoga.
The word 'antakaal' (end time) is used in this verse, which suggests that one should practice yoga before that.
If one has not practiced yoga, it becomes impossible to connect the mind, which is attached to worldly pleasures, with God at the time of death.
It is said in the Vishnu Purana that it is extremely difficult for a person whose mind is engrossed in worldly pleasures to connect with God.
And in the Bhagavata, Prahlada also said, 'O demon children, how can a person who has not controlled his senses, is attached to his home, and is trapped in the strong noose of Maya and attachment, dare to free himself from it?'
A thief would not even think of such a thing.
It is said in the Gita that
Those who are attached to worldly pleasures and opulence, O Bharata, their minds
Their resolute intellect is not fixed in samadhi.
One who has excessive attachment
He cannot even make a resolution to connect with God.
Because attachment has made his mind miserable.
Therefore, he cannot even decide to follow the path of God.
God has said how dangerous it is.
That if there is an excess of attachment to any object,
then he cannot even decide to follow the path of God.
Bharatji had an excessive attachment to the deer.
That is called excess.
He had so much love for God, yet he asked, 'Where is my deer?'
So, it is not fixed in samadhi.
The resolute intellect is not fixed in samadhi.
If one's excessive insistence is stuck in any matter,
then he cannot connect with God.
So, Dev Sameji sang such beautiful kirtans of Bhakti Nidhi.
That it is good to behave simply, O mind, it is good to behave simply.
With God, with the principles of God, there is only simplicity.
There, one should not apply the calculations of our intellect.
Then the work is done.
It is good to behave simply.
Bharatji was so capable.
But nothing worked for him.
He missed, so he stumbled.
A thief, a servant, and a merchant collect wealth without caring for their beloved lives.
And who can give up the craving for wealth, which they consider dearer than their own lives?
Thief, merchant, and servant.
Thief, servant, and merchant.
Job holders, like that.
Thief, servant, and merchant.
One brother said it very well.
That Swami, this Reliance job gives a salary of two to two and a half lakh rupees.
But we feel like leaving it.
They squeeze us dry, they don't leave anything. When we come home, we don't even have the evening.
Now, if they give you two and a half lakhs, they must be giving it to squeeze you.
They won't give it for free.
So, a thief, a servant, and a merchant put their lives at stake and go after wealth.
Putting their lives at stake.
Now, how can he make a decision about God, saying, 'Let's go to God'?
Actually, in the Gita, God said, 'Do not disturb the minds of the ignorant who are attached to fruitive action.'
Do not disturb the minds of the ignorant who are attached to fruitive action.
He should perform all actions.
Just as a thief, a merchant, and a servant get involved.
Servant means not all servants are like that, but Reliance makes them work by paying a salary.
If he doesn't take work, why would he pay a salary?
If he doesn't take work from him, why would he pay him a salary?
So, he makes him do that.
So, Maharaj said that.
A chaste chakora, a moth, a fish, a cuckoo.
Koka, what is the next one after that?
Koka, in his own matters, just as.
The name of a thief comes in that.
One who is afflicted by love, fear, and illness, just as.
Kshudhaturasya vihaya.
So, in one verse, the name of a thief comes up.
So, just as a thief is very careful in his actions, Maharaj took it in a positive way.
That in the same way, one should become careful in God.
How much attention does a thief pay?
The police shouldn't come, he shouldn't wake up, there shouldn't be any noise, and the work should be done directly.
The work has to be completed fully.
Do we think, 'Okay, no problem, no one should be happy, that shouldn't happen, and our work should become dear to Maharaj'? It's not like that.
We haven't learned anything like a thief.
Because we don't have the habit of stealing.
First, one must cultivate the habit of stealing.
A thief, a servant, and a merchant, without caring for their own dear lives, accumulate wealth.
And who can abandon the craving for wealth, which one considers dearer than one's own life?
They cannot abandon it even for God.
So, what I meant to say is that if someone's soul is so deeply entangled, they cannot walk on the path of God.
The person who has dedicated himself to his beloved wife in their private abode, to her loving words and sweet advice.
Who is bound by the bonds of affection of brothers, relatives, and friends.
How can one abandon that which is captivated by the loving, lisping speech of small children?
Who constantly remembers his beloved daughters sent to their in-laws, his sons, brothers, sisters, and his compassionate parents.
How can one abandon such a worldly life, who constantly remembers his well-equipped beautiful home, his traditional livelihood, his animals, and his class of servants?
He cannot abandon that worldly life.
That doesn't mean one has to abandon all these; but if one is completely engrossed in them, one cannot walk on the path of God.
His whole soul is squeezed into all of this.
Otherwise, it is the duty of a householder to take care of parents and do all this.
But if his soul is completely engrossed in it, then it cannot happen.
That's why it is said, 'Bhogeshwarya prasaktanam tayapaharat chetasa'.
He has abducted his soul.
So he is not doing it out of duty.
But knowing attachment, he became oriented towards attachment.
Even then, he cannot make a good decision for God, nor a good decision regarding God.
The person who considers the pleasures of the senses and the taste of enjoyment as everything.
Whose craving for enjoyment is never satisfied.
Who, out of greed, while working, binds himself with more and more bonds like a silkworm.
How can a person whose delusion has no bounds become detached from it and renounce it?
That is stated in the Fifth Canto.
All these are references from the Fifth Canto, all references from the Fifth Canto.
That's why the Yoga Sutras are mentioned.
Therefore, in the Srimad Bhagavad Gita Upanishad, it is said, 'O Arjuna, the person who, with an undivided mind, constantly remembers My Purushottam form, for that yogi who is constantly connected with Me, I am easily attainable, meaning I am easily attained'.
The immense suffering that the jiva experiences at the time of leaving the body does not happen to a devotee who practices daily.
And he remembers the form of God.
It is said in the Srimad Bhagavatam that a devotee who serves the sacred stories and the nectar of the discourses of that Lord of pure fame, and who remembers the lotus feet of the Lord through them, does not experience any delusion even at the time of death.
So many relevant things have been said.
Hiranyagarbha is the preceptor of Yoga Shastra; this is stated in the Moksha Dharma of the Mahabharata.
The speaker of Samkhya Shastra is called Paramarshi Kapila.
And the ancient preceptor of Yoga Shastra is Hiranyagarbha; there is no one else besides him.
The nature of Yoga has been described by Lord Patanjali in the Sutras, such as the goal of the modifications of the mind is the desired
To restrain oneself in the form of God is yoga.
Yoga is the cessation of the modifications of the mind.
There are five modifications of the mind.
Leaving all five of them, that is, dedicating all five modifications to God.
Whatever needs to be stopped, stop it.
And the mind is applied in five ways.
In a foolish way, meaning it doesn't let go at all.
If one cannot let go of their own beliefs, attachments, or what has taken hold in their mind, then they are called foolish.
He cannot compromise on that at all.
Then, even if it's a good thing many times,
then it is called foolish.
If something is not at someone else's house, then it is called foolish.
So that is the first obstacle.
The first step to achieving samadhi in God.
Then kshipta.
Meaning, when one sits down to meditate, they get thrown off somewhere; when one sits down to meditate, they get thrown off somewhere.
When one sits down to perform mental worship, they reach somewhere else.
That is called kshipta.
And vikshipta means sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't.
So that is considered a little better than that.
And then ekagra.
Ekagra means to be absorbed in God.
And then nirodh.
Samadhi.
So then, he cannot be pulled away from there and go anywhere else, which means he has attained samadhi.
That is the principle of the Yoga Sutras.
So there are two principles of the Yoga Sutras, right?
To control the modifications of the mind, and no matter how great one is, if they violate God's command, then
God has set the framework.
No matter how great one is, if they do not abide by the rules of the scriptures, they will be cast aside.
That is God's rule, isn't it?
So, in the Ashtanga Yoga of Yoga, what did he say first?
That is Yama.
If one does not follow Yama and keeps practicing Ashtanga Yoga, it will not happen.
So those are the rules of Yama.
If one crosses the limit, they are cast aside.
And the five Yamas that were mentioned, Maharaj has called them Vartaman.
For us, it is the present.
So, if one remains in the present, the greatness of a great person increases, and the greatness of a humble person also increases.
If one abides by Maharaj's command, even if they are humble, their greatness increases.
And if one is great but does not abide by Maharaj's command, they will be cast aside somewhere.
That is only mentioned in the first part.
This is the entire essence of it.
How did nirodh happen?
After Yama comes Niyama.
When Niyama comes, what happens is that one has to practice connecting their mind with God in relation to God.
So, the essential thing required in that practice is called Niyama.
So, purity, contentment, all these pilgrimages, all these, through them, one practices devotion to God.
And then asana, pranayama, pratyahara, dharana, and dhyana.
And then samadhi.
That whole practice was mentioned.
In this, there is Sahaj Yoga.
In the Yoga Sutras, five types of yoga are mentioned.
The first one is Sahaj Yoga.
If one's attachment to the world breaks due to detachment and they connect with God, then there is no need for them to practice Ashtanga Yoga.
Ashtanga Yoga, then, when is there a need for an operation? If it doesn't get better with tablets.
If it gets better with tablets, then there's no need for an operation.
So this is the tablet.
Detachment.
Practice
Eat after offering prasad to God.
Do not eat without offering a thal.
Go to the evening aarti.
Wake up in the morning and perform puja on time.
All that is called Kriya Yoga.
And if one performs that Kriya regularly, they will succeed.
There is no need to do anything new.
If one does it with full concentration, it is called Yoga.
In this fifth canto, the character of those who have attained yoga
Maharaj made the daily activities of the devotees and sadhus such that if one performs them with full concentration, then in the end, God comes to take them; they do not have to go to the forest.
They do not have to go anywhere to practice yoga.
And Maharaj has called it Yoga.
In the Yoga Sutras, it is called Yoga, Kriya Yoga.
And in the Gita, it is also called Yoga.
So everyone has called it Yoga.
This
In the fifth canto, by describing the character of those who have attained yoga, the principles of that yoga have been repeatedly expounded.
It has expounded on perfected yogis.
Lord Rishabhdev had attained the ultimate state of yoga.
When siddhis came, he was not tempted much.
That is a part of yoga.
Do not get too engrossed in facilities.
There is no problem in keeping it
but don't get too engrossed.
Lord Rishabhdev would do this, otherwise, everyone, Rishabhdev was God.
And he could not perform any siddhis.
And if he had kept in his mind that, 'Let's use these siddhis to do some more work.'
Let's do the mission's work.
He has his own mission.
Let's do the mission's work, let's make the siddhis perform, tell them to go and do this for so many people and that for so many people, then the siddhis would immediately go and perform.
But instead of that, if one works hard with their own hands,
if one achieves a little bit of the mission,
God is pleased with them.
The other one would be pleased directly with the siddhis.
We would just laugh.
That does a lot of work, doesn't it?
If we don't take any car.
We don't even know the name of this new one.
To Saral Swamiji, huh.
Nexon
Nexon.
Nexon, wow, Nexon.
Therefore, it is called Yoga Shastra.
Sage
Sage
According to Maharaj, what is yoga?
According to Maharaj, yoga is Maharaj's opinion.
According to Maharaj, yoga is such that one should not fall from the boundaries set by Maharaj.
Completely observe the boundaries set by Maharaj.
Maharaj's intention in calling it yoga
the intention of selecting this fifth canto is this.
That whoever remains within the limits of the scriptures according to Maharaj's opinion, attains God.
And whoever transgresses the limits of the scriptures, even if they are great, they stumble.
That is Maharaj's opinion.
Maharaj has derived that principle from the fifth canto.
So that is considered Maharaj's opinion.
Therefore, it is called Yoga Shastra.
First, the character of Priyavrat has been described.
For example, Priyavrat was a great yogi.
Not an ordinary yogi, he was a great yogi.
Even though he was a householder, he was a great yogi.
Just like Parvatbhai, even though he was a householder, he was a great yogi.
Nishkulanand Swami, while describing him, wrote that he was the cause in a Kanbi family.
No sadhu's name was written with the adjective that he is the cause.
It is written for Maharaj that he is called the cause, the son of Dharma, the cause.
So in this, Nishkulanand Swami wrote the description of Parvatbhai, that he was the cause in the Kanbi family.
Because the murti of Maharaj that he had, which was perfect, hardly any sadhus would have such a murti.
He had such a perfect murti.
Therefore, he was connected to God, to the murti of God, so he is called a yogi.
They were all yogis.
They were perfected yogis.
Brother Govardhanbhai and all these people who had murtis, among Maharaj's devotees, there were women who were like that.
They would see Maharaj's murti in all three periods of time.
They would see Maharaj even before meeting him.
Maharaj had not met Minbai, but when Maharaj used to wander in the forest, she would constantly see him, thinking, 'Such a wandering ascetic is coming.'
He is coming here. He is going to sit at the place of Panchpir.
So, how much power did those women have?
That was happening due to the influence of yoga.
Connected to Maharaj through yoga, and nothing else but Maharaj.
When Rajbai was there, how much influence was there in her speech?
So, all that is considered Maharaj's influence.
For example, Priyavrat had surrendered all the actions of his senses at the feet of Lord Vasudeva through continuous samadhi yoga.
In this way, the story of Priyavrat is told.
Even though he was a householder.
He was a king.
And even though he was a householder, he was a great yogi.
So, one can become a great yogi.
Shivalalbhai was a householder and was known as the 'Navlakha Sheth' of that time.
Nowadays, it's like nine billion.
Navlakha means.
Even then, he was a great yogi.
And the world had not touched him at all.
That is Maharaj's yoga.
In this way, the story of Priyavrat is told.
Then, going in a luminous divine chariot, etc., his yogic opulence has been described.
After that, even after practicing Ashtanga Yoga, if one worships any deity other than God with the desire for heavenly pleasures, then only trivial results are obtained. To explain this matter, the character of Priyavrat's son, Agnidhra, has been described.
The description of a bad yogi has been given.
What kind of corrupt yogis are there? They are like this.
And what kind of perfected yogis are there? They are like that.
Agnidhra was a yogi.
To state this matter, it is further said.
That Prince Agnidhra opened his lotus-bud-like eyes, which were closed in samadhi yoga, and looked.
After that, in the character of his son Nabhi, he began to worship God by the name of Narnarayan through samadhi yoga.
And in due course, they attained his glory.
Such is his specialty.
Then, Lord Rishabhdev, who appeared as the son of Nabhi, also performed human pastimes and practiced yogic conduct.
He was a great yogi.
Lord Rishabhdev.
That is why it is said that Mokshapati Lord Rishabhdev practiced many types of yogic disciplines in this manner.
After that, the yogic state of his son Bharat has been clearly stated.
In which the great yogi Bharat was the eldest and the most virtuous.
Here, the specialty of Bharat is shown.
And further, King Rahugan addressed Bharat with words like 'Yogeshwar'.
When the king
When, upon hearing the words of that best of Brahmins, which are agreed upon in the texts of Yoga Shastra and which untie the knots of the heart, the specialty of Jad Bharat's words is described by this phrase.
Further, in each of the islands' sections, the yoga in the form of the cessation of the mental modifications of Shri Shankar and others, in the form of Bhagavat Swarup like Shri Sankarshan, has been expounded. This should be taken into consideration here.
Establishing it as self-samadhi, establishing it with supreme samadhi, through the supreme samadhi yoga in the form of desireless, exclusive bhakti yoga, and through unbroken devotion, all these words are exemplary in it.
After that, in the description of astronomy, to show the importance of yoga, it is also stated in the form of an alternative view that some describe this luminous sphere as the Shishumar Chakra in the yogic meditation of Lord Vasudeva.
After that, at the time of describing the seven lower netherworlds, the state of Lord Sheshnag, the prior form of Yogacharya Patanjali, has been described.
And his yogic mastery, which is mentioned in the third canto, refers to the time when Shesh was performing mental worship of the Supreme Soul, who was his refuge, and whom the Vedas describe by the name Vasudeva.
His lotus-bud-like eyes were closed.
For the joy of the wise ones like Sanatkumar, he looked with half-open eyes.
This should be taken into consideration here.
The yogic nature of May, Bali, and Prahlad, among others, has been explained through other sentences.
to take.
Apart from this Yoga, the description in the fifth canto is incidental.
The rest of the incidental descriptions are there.
To state that this fifth canto is Yoga Shastra, Yogindra Shri Sukdevji Mahatma has also placed the first sutra of Yoga Shastra, 'Atha Yoganu Shasanam', in the middle of the canto without the word 'Atha' in this prose, 'Yadidam Yoganu Shasanam'.
And that sentence, by the logic of the 'dehali deep' (lamp on the threshold), just as a lamp placed on the threshold of a house illuminates both inside and outside, similarly, it indicates the former and latter parts of the fifth canto in the form of Yoga Shastra.
If someone asks here that the tenth canto is Bhakti Shastra and the fifth canto is Yoga Shastra.
You say this, but it has no fame, so the answer to that is that
Did someone else establish it, or are you saying it on your own?
If you believe it alone, will anyone else believe it?
Someone else should certify it.
You say this, but it has no fame.
So the answer to that is that 'me matam' (my opinion) - this is my belief.
In philosophical matters, no one
Whether others believe it or not, we believe it.
In philosophical matters, there is no need for sectarian fame.

Commentary.
As mentioned above, one should first enter the Vedas and other scriptures through reading and other means.
Then, after finding all of them, one should divide them into essential and non-essential parts.
Then, whatever is the essence, that should be accepted.
It is also said in the Gita that just as a thirsty person takes only enough water from a reservoir completely filled with water to quench his thirst, similarly, a Vedic seeker of liberation should take only as much as is a means to liberation from all the Vedas.
So, Maharaj has taken whatever was worth taking from the Yoga Sutras into this fifth canto.
And the principles of Yoga Sutra are like that.
Even of the essence, there are three parts: 'saar' (essence), 'saartar' (more essential), and 'saartam' (most essential).
Among them, the action performed without attachment to results, with a selfless attitude, is the essential action.
But that essential action purifies the mind, and then that action, which becomes useful in the worship of God, becomes useful for moksha (liberation).
Secondly, when the impurity has matured, the practitioner attains a mind suitable for yoga.
After that, in the mind prepared by the practice of yoga with its eight limbs like yama and niyama, that continuous remembrance of God with love, like an unbroken stream of oil, is 'saartar' (more essential).
That is, the Smriti of Yajnavalkya Rishi is the essence.
By that, the inner consciousness becomes pure.
And the Yoga Sutra, which is the fifth canto, is 'saartar' (more essential), meaning it is even more essential because it connects the mind to God.
And if devotion awakens in God, then that is 'saartam' (most essential).
Then he doesn't need much of those two things.
So, Bhakti Shastram, Dharma Shastram, Yoga Shastram, Bhakti Shastram, in order.
Maharaj has chosen that order.
From Maharaj's perspective, Bhakti Shastra is considered the most important of all.
Second to that is Yoga Shastra, and second to that is Dharma Shastra.
But Maharaj has used the Samuchchayavada (doctrine of conjunction).
It was said earlier that one should perform devotion along with dharma.
There are three types in Samuchchayavada: equal Samuchchayavada.
And the second is up-down Samuchchayavada.
And the third is Angangi Bhava Samuchchayavada.
What is called up-down? Like 75% and this much.
75% this and 25% that.
If one task is done by that, it is called Samuchchaya.
Samuchchaya means together.
When everything is present, the jiva (soul) attains कल्याण (welfare/salvation).
But Maharaj has used the Samuchchayavada of Dharma and Bhakti, which is the Angangi Bhava (relationship of a part to the whole).
So, it's not about percentages.
But Dharma is its limb.
So, without a limb, the body becomes useless.
If someone has to get their legs amputated, then even if the body is good, it's not very useful.
They can't walk and work.
Similarly, devotion is very good, but Dharma is its legs.
If someone cuts them off, then after the operation, sitting there, they can't give orders or shout. If they're sitting, everyone loses their fear, thinking they won't come and do anything to us.
So no one does it, and they don't do what they intended.
So, Maharaj has used such a comprehensive doctrine of limb and body.
So, whether you call it Yoga, or Dharma Shastra, or Bhakti.
Bhakti Shastra is the body, and Yoga and Dharma Shastra are its limbs.
So, the more you strengthen them, the stronger the other becomes.
But not by abandoning devotion and strengthening the other.
Thereafter, in the mind prepared by the practice of Yoga with its eight limbs like Yama and Niyama, the continuous remembrance of God with love, like an unbroken stream of oil, is the best, which ultimately leads to the realization of God.
Thirdly, just as an undiscerning person has deep attachment and affection for worldly objects, the intense attachment and loving devotion that a devotee feels for the form of God is the best, and that is what is called the fruit of devotion.
Maharaj, in the scriptures, gave an analogy to an undiscerning person, asking what kind of devotion to God is needed?
So, it should be like the love undiscerning people have for the five sense objects. So what does that mean?
There is no limit.
No calculation.
No cause and effect.
That if I get this, I'll do this, and if I get that, I'll do that.
Nothing like that.
Sacrifice.
That sacrifice.
If there is a householder and all his family members do not cooperate with him, then where will he go to give his earnings?
Where does he give?
To the family.
Even if they don't cooperate, he still gives.
Sacrifice.
Whatever they do, let them do it however they want, but we sacrifice it and throw it away.
A householder has such a mentality.
Do we have such a mentality towards God?
That whether God benefits us or not, it's a sacrifice, that shouldn't happen.
Those people are called 'marjiva' (those who live for death).
That until we die, there's no problem.
And give it to everyone.
To please everyone.
If God is not pleased, it's fine.
If we are not pleased, it's fine; if we become sad, it's still fine.
All those others should be pleased.
When it's time to die, everyone should come and say 'bye-bye' happily.
So, that is called sacrifice.
And that is called illogical.
Devotion to God should be like that.
Illogical.
If we do this much, Maharaj fulfills our vows, and if we don't do this much, then no, it's not like that.
Unmotivated devotion, such are the qualities of Hari.
It is said, isn't it?
That they perform unmotivated devotion.
There is no cause behind it.
That if it's like this, we do it, and if it's like that, we don't.
Then that devotion is the love of the undiscerning.
The love of undiscerning people is like this.
There is no logic in it.
There is sacrifice in it.
Pure sacrifice, sacrifice, and sacrifice.
No logic, no, no, nowhere.
That's what it's called.
A virtuous householder worships sadhus.
So what does he do in that?
He maintains discretion, doesn't he?
That these are good sadhus, so we should serve them.
And drawing circles.
If they are there, then tell Swami to explain. They have come, so they won't be disappointed. They won't do that from home, not at our householders' homes.
But they will explain and send them away.
And that should be done. It's not like it shouldn't be done. It should be done.
As far as possible, one should ensure that they don't enter the house.
And if they have entered,
Explain to them in any way and leave before they curse you, outside the door.
If they curse outside the door, then it doesn't matter much. If the door is closed, it doesn't affect you.
So, by giving it to him, that happens.
But that's how it works among sadhus.
But if the householders, say, a neighbor's householders are ideal householders, and we are 50%, then we don't surrender 50% to them. That's 100% surrender.
That is called sacrifice, sacrifice.
So, in devotion to God, in the matter of God, it should be like this.
It's not like if he does our work, then we do his work.
Even if God does our work and we have made a vow and don't fulfill it, it's still a complete sacrifice.
So that is called the love of the unwise.
Unwise people sacrifice so much; they don't look at anything else, not even until death.
Just as an unwise person has deep attachment and infatuation with worldly objects, similarly, the intense attachment and loving devotion that a devotee develops towards the form of God is the best.
And that fruit is called by the word 'bhakti'.
That attachment, even if one tries hundreds of times, cannot be attained by oneself.
Even if one lives a life like Jadbharat, it is still difficult to attain.
Only by the grace of God alone can one attain that intense loving attachment.
Of other substances,
There are two types of devotion: one is Raganuga, and there is another type.
One is Raganuga, meaning that love doesn't need to be taught to anyone.
It's an awakening, it's his awakening.
It's an awakening from birth.
He doesn't need to be given any advice.
That is called Raganuga Bhakti.
When Mirabai was young, she developed affection for the idol of God.
She was a small child then.
She must have been five or seven years old.
And a wedding procession had come to the village.
So, when the wedding procession came, she and her mother, everyone used to go to see the procession in the olden days, right?
So she used to ask her mother.
She asked, "Mother, what is this called?"
So she said, "It's a wedding procession."
So, what is a wedding procession?
Children have that habit, don't they?
They keep asking, "What, what, what?"
That when a wedding happens, a procession comes.
So, there's a groom in it.
And there's a bride.
They go to marry her.
So then she asked, "Who is my groom?"
Now, she was a small child, she didn't know anything about who her groom was, what a groom was, and what that was.
So her mother got annoyed and said, "Look, your groom is this idol of Lord Shri Krishna. Your groom is this."
So then she just got attached to it.
Govindo is my life, the world seems bitter to me.
So then she developed affection for God.
That is called Raganuga. No one came to give her advice, she didn't have any of that. It's called Raganuga Bhakti when one has an awakening from birth.
And that is called the love of the unwise.
One should do devotion until it becomes like that.
As long as we are still using logic, it shouldn't be done.
How reasonable is what Shri Krishna does?
The Gopis never raised such a question.
That what Shri Krishna does is reasonable.
King Parikshit raised the question to Shukdevji, "Is everything Shri Krishna did considered reasonable?"
These two guru-disciples say, "How reasonable is that?"
So Shukdevji banged his head.
Fool, he said, reasonable, reasonable.
But the Gopis never said whether it was reasonable or not.
What Shri Krishna does is reasonable.
What Shri Krishna does is reasonable, nothing else.
That attachment, even if one tries hundreds of times, cannot be attained by oneself.
Does our stomach hurt or not?
Shastriji Maharaj often used to talk about it.
He was talking about something.
Swami used to go home, but we had never seen him at home. There was some problem with the door at his home.
So Swami did something, he made a door, or maybe he closed it. I don't know much about it.
And then all the sadhus became angry.
Is that how it is?
Is that how it is?
If we do something like that, how would you all feel?
Is that how it is?
That
Brother, I hired Satish Sir, I hired a director, so if he does something, it must be like that, because we are here.
So, it shouldn't be like, "Is that how it is?"
So, the gopis never felt that way.
They had Lord Shri Krishna, we are not God.
But still, it happens.
So, every now and then, we think, "Is that how it is?" They ask us, "Bring me an account." So, they think, "Is that how it is?" The work must be going on like that.
Hand over the work to me completely, and then ask me for this much, and I will do it.
That's the kind of mentality, isn't it?
But that's why it happens that way, "Is that how it is?"
So, devotion, 50% of devotion gets damaged.
Is that how it is?
So, either keep it completely blind or don't do it.
It's not like being completely blind in this Kali Yuga.
If someone comes and completely puts us in a bottle, then it's better to be outside than to be in a bottle.
Just as an unwise person has deep attachment and affection for worldly pleasures.
Even if an unwise person's husband creates a lot of mischief, he still jumps around and goes to the door saying, "Is that how it is?"
He closed the door and understood everything, saying, "How is it going now? It's very good."
He would never think, "Is that how it is?" never in his whole life.
That there would be such a husband, or such a son.
He would never say that.
Even if it is.
Even if it happens in the mind.
Even then, if the son asks for something, he will coax him and tell him, making him very happy.
So, what's in his mind is that now he won't come back like this.
If I fix him once, he won't be like this again.
And we can't even talk about the husband.
I will refuse to do the Katha.
Just as an unwise person has deep attachment and affection for worldly pleasures.
Similarly, the intense love and devotion that a devotee feels for the form of God is the best.
So, he doesn't think, "Is that how it is?"
He thinks that it should be an ideal form, otherwise we should have an ideal form.
How should a Guru be?
How should a Guru be?
Should be perfect.
Should be completely up-to-date.
The frame we made should not have any damage at all.
That's a frame we made.
Then that one
Just as an unwise person
This is about the devotion of God, in human devotion, one should keep a little bit and make a frame.
Just as an unwise person has deep attachment and affection for worldly pleasures, similarly, the intense love and devotion that a devotee feels for the form of God is the best.
That is the best.
The gopis felt that way.
That there is no upliftment.
There is no upliftment in Lord Shri Krishna.
That is called devotion.
A new upliftment every day.
In serving God, there is always new upliftment.
So, that is called the love of awakening.
Maharaj also said that.
That in the devotees of God, one should not look for too many good or bad qualities.
But how should one love a devotee of God? One should love them as one loves one's family.
There is no chance for love in a family to increase or decrease.
Even if they are tied.
After 15 days, if it heals, it's as if there was no knot at all.
And for the other one, a knot was formed once.
That
Then it won't be hidden in any way.
So, how should one love God's devotee, a devotee of God?
So, one should love the body and its relatives as much as one loves the body.
So, nothing more than that.
Don't do anything more.
If the body has troubled us, then we stop keeping it a little.
They don't stop keeping it.
Keep it for life.
And that is called fruit-bhakti by the word.
That raganubandh, even if one tries hundreds of times, cannot be attained by it.
Even if one lives a life like Jadbharat, it is still difficult to attain.
Such raganubandh is only by the grace of God alone.
It does not come from detachment.
How was Jadbharat's detachment?
But it does not come from detachment, only from detachment.
Let there be attachment to God.
And the attachment should be such that all these uprisings in it should be calmed down.
He does it right.
And that is the best, there is no one like it.
Such.
Only when such a thing happens to us in Maharaj, then we are said to have devotion to Maharaj.
Such an intense love can only be attained by the grace of God alone.
It cannot be obtained by one's own efforts like other objects.
That intense love can only be asked for.
It is said in the Shri Vishnu Purana that just as ignorant people have love for worldly objects, similarly, innocent love for me, who constantly remembers you, should never be removed from my heart.
Such a thing is asked for in God.
It's done.
It's ringing.
It's ringing.
Victory to Sahajanand Swami Maharaj.
