Shikshapatri verse number 73

Ape bhore phalam karma dharmapetam bhavetyadhi acharyam tarhitanneva dharma sarvartha dosthihi

And if a karma, which has many fruits, is devoid of dharma, then one should not perform it.

Because dharma is the giver of all purusharthas.

Therefore, one should not abandon dharma for the greed of any fruit.

If there is any work that brings financial gain, but if it is against one's own dharma, then one should not do it.

Because dharma is the one who gives all desired objects.

It is not that those who follow dharma do not get enjoyable objects or means of enjoyment.

It is said in Moksha Dharma that

Work without dharma, worldly work without dharma, even if it is very beneficial from a worldly perspective, a wise person does not do such work because in this world, that work is not said to be beneficial.

It is also said in the Parashar Smriti that whatever worldly happiness there is,

or otherworldly happiness, all of that is attained only by following dharma.

A person who deviates from dharma is destroyed.

A person who deviates from dharma is destroyed.

The happiness of God is not attained solely through dharma.

Otherwise, the happiness of this world and the next is all attained by following dharma.

Whoever has attained happiness now, worldly happiness, it is a result of the dharma they followed in the past.

And if they follow it now, they will receive it in the future.

There is no happiness anywhere in this realm of nature without dharma.

Nothing is found anywhere without dharma.

Perhaps he performed some religious act in the past, and as a result, he is now enjoying happiness.

If he abandons dharma now, he will have to bear its consequences later.

So, whoever desires happiness in the long run, should follow dharma.

One should not desire any enjoyment or anything else by abandoning dharma.

Those who followed dharma in the past certainly receive worldly happiness in this world.

So, the dharma that was followed, does it not leave any samskara, or does it mean that even now in this world, one follows that dharma?

Samskaras do remain, but immediate temptations do not allow the samskaras to remain.

Maharaj said that whatever strength there is in samskaras,

that much and that much is in each and every deshkala, kriya, sang, mantra, shastra, diksha, in all of them.

So, if those adverse things come, they destroy the previous samskaras, they do not let their strength remain.

So, a person, coming under the influence of greed, does not consider dharma or adharma at all.

Especially the greed for wealth and women, that does not let a person remain in dharma.

That is not.

Excessive greed.

Everyone has normal greed.

These worldly people are happy with two things.

And if both are equal, then happy, and if not equal, then unhappy.

But normal.

If there is excessive greed, then one cannot follow dharma.

So greed, one may have good samskaras and follow dharma.

Maharaj has given commands to such people.

He has not given commands to those who follow dharma and have no problem with dharma.

That is not his subject.

Those who follow all dharmas, even then, sometimes fall into greed.

So that they do not fall into greed.

It is said that happiness related to God is not attained through dharma.

Maharaj said that one who disobeys the command, only then does he suffer, so he

In this world.

Only by disobeying God's command does God's devotee suffer.

So that dharma.

Command means dharma. All commands are in the form of dharma.

Maharaj has given all the commands in the Shikshapatri, which are the limits of all Shrutis and Smritis, and he has given commands for them.

For us, Maharaj's command is a great dharma.

Nishkulanand Swami said that.

That Maharaj's command is dharma, the words of Dharmasut.

Maharaj has given commands, and in them, all dharmas have been woven in and taken.

So we don't need to go and see what is said in which Smriti, what is said in Parashar Smriti, and what is said in Yajnavalkya Smriti.

When this Satsangi Jivan is read in the evening, how much comes in it.

And everything has been said after extracting the essence.

So much.

Because if one follows the commands of the Shikshapatri, then one does not attain the happiness of God, that kind of thing.

It comes, doesn't it?

If one follows Maharaj's command, then two things come in it. Maharaj's devotion also comes, and dharma also comes.

If one only follows the commands of the Smritis, then only dharma comes in it.

But in that, the direct devotion to God cannot be counted.

So, following the commands of the Smriti scriptures cannot be considered direct devotion.

Dharma is helpful in devotion.

But it is not called direct devotion.

And if one follows Maharaj's command, then if we do as Maharaj said, then we have directly attained Maharaj's devotion, and dharma has come within it.

Like that.

Then sometimes it is said that for the great mission work of God, if some small or big dharma is being violated, then that dharma should not be done.

Be content.

When dissatisfaction increases, even if it is a mission work, it is still God's mission work.

So one should be content.

This arises from dissatisfaction.

And that dissatisfaction is the dissatisfaction of this world.

Maharaj said in the Vachanamrut that if the whole world wants to become satsangi, then become it, and if it wants to cease, then cease.

By God's will.

So we have to make human effort.

We should make full human effort as much as we are capable of.

Even then, if it doesn't come, it's not like we should violate dharma and make an effort.

One should remain in dharma, within Maharaj's limits, and make human effort.

God gives a lot many times.

We remain in dharma, follow Maharaj's command, and make human effort.

Then God gives more than we expect.

But this world is such that it is not.

Humans are not satisfied with wealth.

It is said in the Upanishads.

This thing, one never gets satisfaction from living, from a woman, and from wealth. One who has this world as primary does not get satisfaction.

One who wants to go to God's abode and wants to please God Maharaj, he gets satisfaction.

It's not that it doesn't happen. If one keeps in mind that they want to go to God's abode, then they get satisfaction.

So Maharaj said that excessive dissatisfaction.

In contentment, one should not transgress Maharaj's command.

Transgression of dharma.

Even if it's a mission, it's Maharaj's mission, what else is there in it?

Commentary.

First, Shri Hari told his devotees to perform worldly actions for the sustenance of their bodies.

After performing that worldly action, Maharaj commanded that one should perform their worldly duties after performing puja in this manner.

He said that.

Then he gave all those commands regarding worldly duties.

That one should not dispute, do it this way, respect this, stand up if someone comes.

He gave all those practical commands.

Shri Hari first told his devotees to perform worldly actions for the sustenance of their bodies.

He described the necessary matters for those engaged in worldly actions in these verses.

Then, for those engaged in worldly affairs, these verses have more relevance.

If someone comes, stand up, call him with words befitting his status, inspire him to work according to his ability, respect the king and all others by standing up.

All those who are engaged in worldly affairs have more relevance.

For those who are far from worldly affairs, there is very little question of a king coming.

He described the necessary matters for those engaged in worldly actions in these verses.

Then he examined the essential qualities in Bhakti Yoga.

He immediately spoke of the cleverness of taking care of the family.

He showed skill in speech in social interactions.

Then he recommended respecting gurus, kings, and others.

And finally, he taught to abandon inappropriate disputes.

Thus, everything was said in sequence.

The compilation up to now, what was said in the Shikshapatri up to the 72nd verse.

Its compilation is said to be that Maharaj has commanded this much in it.

In this way, a devotee engaged in worldly affairs, firmly adhering to all the specific rules, should act only by following the virtuous dharma described in the scriptures.

But never act against dharma.

Thus, Shri Hari tells his devotees, "Api bhuri phalam, etc."

Where there appears to be a lot of benefit.

In the Shikshapatri, Maharaj placed a lot of emphasis.

Further, in that 39th verse, it was said that devotion without dharma should not be performed at all, meaning devotion devoid of dharma should not be done.

Further, around verse 100, it is said that Maharaj says, "Dharmena sahita bhakti karya tadraha."

This is the secret of all scriptures.

The same thing is said here too.

That which gives great fruit without dharma is worldly; the other is more of dharma.

In the Shikshapatri,

Maharaj placed a lot of emphasis.

Maharaj has accepted the Samuchchayavada (doctrine of combination).

Bhakti and Dharma.

There are three types in Samuchchayavada.

Equal Samuchchayavada.

Unequal Samuchchayavada.

And Anga-Angi Samuchchayavada.

Samuchchay means all together. For Dharma and Bhakti, are both equal for going to Akshardham?

So Maharaj has not accepted the equal doctrine, nor has he accepted the unequal doctrine.

But he has accepted the Anga-Angi Bhava (relationship of part and whole).

That dharma becomes a part of bhakti and helps bhakti.

Therefore, one should never abandon dharma.

If one abandons dharma, it is believed that they have also abandoned bhakti.

If a person doesn't have legs, other tasks cannot be done.

No matter how good the whole body is, if there are no legs.

That's why the Anga-Angi Bhava (relationship of part and whole) is mentioned.

Dharma and Bhakti cannot be separated.

What is a human being? It's when all these parts are put together that it becomes a human.

If the limbs are separated, nothing like a human remains.

Similarly, separating dharma

Then devotion would not exist.

So, in that way, Maharaj has called dharma an aspect of devotion.

In this way, a devotee engaged in worldly affairs, having firmly adopted all the specific rules, should act only according to the righteous dharma described in the scriptures.

But never act against dharma, as Shri Hari tells his devotees, 'Even if it yields abundant fruit,' and so on.

If an action that appears to yield great benefit is devoid of dharma, meaning it is contrary to the scriptures, then one should not do it.

Dharma is an inspiration, so acting contrary to it is forbidden.

That which does not have dharma should be abandoned.

Because if you keep dharma, everything will remain.

It is said that dharma is the giver of all human endeavors.

So, against the scriptures.

Maharaj took all three things into account regarding dharma.

Maharaj said in one place that whoever remains within the limits of God, scriptures, and the Satpurush, remains in the form of the self.

So, the scriptures have set limits, the Satpurush has set limits, and God has also set limits; all three combined constitute dharma.

Dharma, however,

In this world, it seems that one who observes dharma has to endure everything.

One who observes dharma with slight difficulty finds happiness.

So, in this world, those who do not observe dharma,

The happiness of dharma is not immediate.

And the happiness of adharma is received immediately.

If someone steals, money comes directly into their hands.

The happiness of adharma is received at this very moment.

And the happiness of dharma is not received immediately.

But if a person has happiness, it has come from observing dharma on that day.

And whatever suffering comes, it has come from him violating dharma on that day; that is what all the scripture writers want to say.

The suffering that comes now does not come from observing dharma.

That comes from the dharma he violated earlier.

In human birth, two or three things come together.

Firstly, his past destiny and his current duty.

So, don't misunderstand that suffering occurs when one goes to perform duty.

The suffering comes from the duty he neglected earlier.

And if he still neglects his duty in this suffering, he will have even more suffering in the future.

That's it.

That is what the scripture writers say.

That for a person, observing dharma cannot be done without causing hardship to the body.

So, dharma is indeed a hardship for the body.

It's not that there's nothing.

But we consider our soul separate from the body.

And after this life, there is also a life there.

And there is also happiness and sorrow there.

So we are preparing for the future.

We cannot make much change in the happiness and sorrow that are to come in our lives now.

That is because it is called a released arrow.

Once the arrow is released, one regrets, 'It would have been better if I hadn't shot it here.'

No other change can be made in that.

Even God does not make many changes in that.

If one performs devotion to God, then after completing this prarabdha, He takes them away.

In that, Maharaj said that God saves one from the suffering of Holi at the shore.

If one performs devotion to God, surrenders, and prays to Maharaj, then if great suffering is to come, Maharaj has taken it upon himself, hasn't he?

So, Maharaj has done that as a special thing.

But otherwise, if one performs devotion to God, the sufferings that are destined to come in this prarabdha do not go away.

The sufferings that are destined to come in prarabdha are the fruit of our past actions.

It is the fruit of our past actions.

Currently,

If we follow dharma and suffer, then it is certainly a hardship.

That is the very meaning of dharma.

It's not like following dharma and practicing it won't cause hardship.

Dharma is always a bit difficult.

That's why its fruit is greater.

Because it is difficult.

So, in a person's life today, there are two things that stand in the way.

One is the fruits of past karma, and now, what is our responsibility, what is our duty now.

Our duty now is to obey Maharaj's command.

Even if it causes hardship.

If we don't obey, it will be worse.

But we don't know that.

So people transgress.

In reality, it is just like that.

The fruit of any unrighteous act committed by any person never leaves them.

They cannot give it to anyone else.

It is said in the scriptures that 'koti kalpa shate rapi' (even after millions of kalpas).

One must experience the fruit of the actions one has performed.

Even if one does anything, it is for millions of kalpas.

God never lets them go.

So if people transgress commands now, how will they be freed?

They transgress the previous one, and they get its fruit.

So, no matter how much suffering one experiences, if one does not abandon dharma, then one will find happiness in the future.

And if one obeys Maharaj's command, both aspects are included in Maharaj's command in dharma, and if one obeys, one is freed forever.

So, if one wants to follow dharma and obey Maharaj's command, it is bound to be difficult.

Because it's not easy.

Then accept it and that.

If they are enjoying it freely now, then they will experience it now, what do you say?

But one has to experience it with interest according to the scriptures.

Mantra Mantra Swami's question is that if violating the rules of the state leads to more benefit in religious activities, then should the rules of the state be violated or not?

I didn't understand anything.

If violating the rules of the state leads to more benefit in religious activities, then should the rules of the state be violated or not?

Maharaj has said that even if one commits unrighteousness and offers many gifts to God, he has refused.

Whether to call the rules of the state dharma or adharma is a different matter.

What should be understood according to the country and time?

If one betrays a righteous king and breaks the rules of the state, it means that one has betrayed a righteous king, and if one follows the rules of the state, it means that one has supported a righteous king.

So that happens, but all that is considered a bit too complicated.

So, all those of the state should be kept in their proper place.

This is what should be done in normal life, following dharma.

Follow as much as can be followed.

This is Kaliyuga, so if you go to analyze it too much, it's not possible, there are all sorts of things like that.

It's not possible to analyze it, it's like that.

So Maharaj said that one should do what pleases Maharaj.

The main point is not to fall into too much greed.

Don't fall into too much greed.

Greed makes one do all those things.

Swami Maharaj said in the Shikshapatri that one should not perform devotion without dharma.

So, when there is such a crossing, one should keep dharma.

Yes, and in the Vachanamrut, it is said that if devotion is lost by keeping dharma, and dharma is lost by keeping devotion, then Maharaj says to keep devotion.

So, the coordination of these two is said.

It's not like there's a crossing, and one should keep dharma if there's a desire for devotion; that's not it.

Do not abandon dharma while performing devotion.

Maharaj has said that one should not perform devotion without dharma.

There is no such situation in the Shikshapatri where there is a crossing and one has to abandon one of the two.

What did Maharaj say there? That if by following dharma, devotion...

If devotion is going away, Maharaj says, keep constant remembrance.

So, the murti of God will protect dharma and will protect bhakti.

There, Maharaj did not say to keep devotion.

He did not say to keep dharma or to abandon dharma and keep devotion.

What you are asking is like that.

In the fourth Vachanamrut of Madhya, what is the question?

If a devotee of God observes all such dharmas mentioned in the scriptures, and such a calamity comes upon him that if he tries to keep dharma, devotion is lost, and if he tries to keep devotion, dharma is lost, then which one should he keep and which one should he renounce?

There, Maharaj did not give such an answer that one should keep devotion by being greedy for dharma.

What answer did Maharaj give?

Maharaj says that dharma resides in the murti of God, so one should take care of God's murti and keep constant remembrance.

Then, when both are not there, keep constant remembrance.

That is the question. And that is, like Yudhishthira, devotion to dharma, and like Arjuna, devotion to the form. In that, it is said that this is either/or. Here, in dharma and devotion, it is not said either/or. Keep this, and if that is going, keep this. And if there is a crossing, Maharaj found a new way. If there is a crossing, then also keep the remembrance of God. Keep the constant remembrance of God. Nothing. So God keeps both. Maharaj has not said that one should abandon dharma and keep only devotion. If there is a crossing of both, then abandoning dharma and keeping devotion, such discussions have almost not been done anywhere. So Maharaj did not say that. And Maharaj does not let such a situation come to anyone. So, to abandon dharma and practice devotion, God has not propounded such a thing anywhere. To abandon devotion to dharma and keep devotion to the form, such a proposition has been made. That Maharaj, Maharaj has covered it in that too, that if one keeps devotion to the form, the question is not to abandon this and keep this. But Maharaj said that if one keeps one, both remain, that is the question. So which one is it? It is devotion to the form. If one keeps devotion to the form, then devotion to dharma also remains, and devotion to the form also remains. If one keeps only devotion to dharma, then devotion to the form might be lost. Maharaj has discussed it this way in both instances. But in the previous instance, it is not discussed that if dharma is going, let it go and keep devotion. Maharaj has directly changed the track. And he says that if there is no suitable time and place, then one should keep constant remembrance. Then both dharma and devotion will be protected. Remember Maharaj. And devotion is always about the prohibitive statements, which must be followed completely. And the prescriptive statements, those must be followed according to one's strength, intellect, and power. If I want to go on a pilgrimage, it's not that I must go on a pilgrimage by riding a horse for a year. If it is said to go on a pilgrimage, then pilgrimage is a rule. And celibacy, etc., is a yama. So all those are prohibitive commands. That one should not do this, one should not steal, one should not lie. That is complete, it's not that you do it when you have time and don't do it when you don't have time. That must be done 100%. And if one wants to go on a pilgrimage, or if other rules are given, like performing a yagna, then all those are according to one's strength. Giving charity, all those are rules, they are meritorious. So all those should be given if one has the strength. If one does not have the strength, then one should not give. But in the former, it's not that if one has the strength, one should follow it or not follow it. It is said that one must follow it. That must be followed completely. If you don't have the strength and you don't follow it, then God does not allow that. If you don't have the strength and you don't give charity, then God allows that. If you have the strength, you should give. If you don't have it, you should not give. So, it is like that. But to abandon dharma and keep only devotion,

Maharaj has not said much about this. He said to keep only the remembrance. If one is losing their dharma, if it is a difficult time and they cannot keep anything, then they should remember God. Then God will make everything good.

In some places, Maharaj has said that if God's word is somehow violated, then it's not a problem. So, he has allowed that. In what sense should that be understood? In that, Maharaj has said that if something unrighteous is happening, then even if God's word is violated, there is no problem.

Maharaj has mentioned such an incident. That incident of abandoning dharma has not been taken anywhere.

If an unrighteous event is happening, then let God be displeased.

If we are sitting and women are also having darshan,

then we tell the sadhus, 'Please have darshan.'

Then Maharaj says, 'If we force them and they become displeased, then let it happen.' That's what Maharaj said.

So, that was said in a situation where someone's dharma was being violated.

To sometimes keep bhakti by violating dharma,

Maharaj has never discussed such a thing to our knowledge.

One should perform bhakti while upholding dharma, because that is God's principle.

Therefore, God never discusses such things. Perhaps if Maharaj has not discussed this and someone encounters such a situation, then it is different.

But Maharaj has not discussed such things. Otherwise, Maharaj has mostly provided solutions for all the discussions of worldly affairs, the tragedies that occur in a person's life, and the complications that arise.

In the Vachanamrut, there are over 500 questions, and all of them are like this.

There are separate incidents for each of them.

It has been discussed.

Besides that, Maharaj might have said it in Satsangi Jivan or somewhere else, but he has not discussed such things anywhere.

Therefore, Maharaj said that even if one performs actions with a pure heart, dharma will still be there.

Here, it's about worldly conduct.

In the previous shloka, it was said that one should never perform devotion that is devoid of dharma.

There, it was said about bhakti.

Then Maharaj would have said, 'If there is a crossing, then abandon dharma and then perform bhakti.'

Not to perform devotion without dharma means that such a situation should not be allowed to happen anywhere.

Such

And in the 102nd shloka, it is said that one should perform devotion with dharma.

This is the secret of all these scriptures.

It is said.

Therefore, Maharaj has not shown such a crossing anywhere.

And if such a crossing occurs, Maharaj has said that to get out of it, one should constantly remember God and pray to God. Then God will show the way out.

Maharaj has said so.

If an action appears to be very beneficial, but it is devoid of dharma, meaning it is contrary to the scriptures, then it should not be done.

Dharma is an inspirer.

Therefore, conduct contrary to it is forbidden.

There is such an incident, I don't know the exact details, that Gunatitanand Swami visited Gondal.

So, Bhagwatsinhji Bapu's mother, Monghiba.

She felt that Bhagwatsinh's birth was due to Swami's blessings, and she had immense devotion.

And she had a temple built at the state's expense, so she said, 'Let me touch his feet once.'

Swami said, 'That can never happen.'

If you want to build it, build the temple. Do whatever you want. We don't have such greed.

No saints have ever violated dharma like that.

And if they had, Maharaj would have been very displeased. That's possible.

Maharaj says there's an incident where a saint had a mangai (a type of skin disease) on his body.

And the woman who was removing it was there.

So then he covered himself completely, and she removed it through a hole. Even then, Maharaj was very displeased.

Maharaj says, 'You value your body more than us.'

That's why you did this.

But if your body had fallen in there, who would have come to pick it up?

So Maharaj's dharma

There is a question that if both dharma and bhakti are included in Maharaj's command, then it is said in the Madhya Vachanamrut that one should put aside dharma and other things that hinder bhakti. So, what kind of dharma should that dharma be understood as?

So, it means that if dharma and other things like knowledge and detachment hinder bhakti, then they should be put aside. Is it like putting aside dharma?

The name of dharma is all three, so it is

Keep it as the main thing.

Keep devotion as the main thing.

Don't let it go beyond this.

Some devotees in our sampraday, there are such sects that are prevalent, like washing wood, washing cow dung, washing that.

Like, wash your hands that many times, don't eat your parents' food, don't do that.

So, that is considered to have gone a bit too far.

So, don't do that.

Bhakti, that was just about dharma.

But one should not keep such a dharma that it hinders bhakti. That's why Maharaj said that if one goes to have excessive compassion, then the path of upasana will be broken.

Therefore, for the sake of God, one should pluck tulsi, make a garden, and if adharma occurs in that, then it should be made secondary.

But keep devotion.

It is said there to put it back.

It is not said anywhere to abandon it.

So, Maharaj said that if one has excessive compassion and excessive renunciation, then that is an aspect of dharma.

Then upasana will not remain on his path.

And if it doesn't happen to some, Maharaj says not to do that.

Don't do it excessively.

Don't abandon dharma and bhakti, and don't let bhakti be suppressed while observing dharma.

Keep it such that it remains an integral part of bhakti.

The main thing is devotion.

The part is dharma.

But that doesn't mean that devotion without its parts can survive.

So, Maharaj has spoken of the body-soul relationship, meaning the body, its parts, and the soul.

If all the limbs of a person are cut off, what remains in the person? Is just the torso called a person? That's not how it is.

If hands are cut off, legs are cut off, eyes, ears, nose, everything is gone, then what remains in it?

So, it is said to be the part and the whole.

So, Maharaj said that those who hinder devotion should be put aside. That is Maharaj's language.

That is a language beyond the scriptures.

There is probably no objection to that. If we think a little deeper about it, there won't be much objection.

That knowledge, detachment, and dharma that hinder devotion should be put aside.

And keep devotion as the main thing.

It doesn't mean that dharma and it should be abandoned.

Keep them all.

In some places, Maharaj has said that if there is only devotion, it gets the job done.

It is said so.

It is said that it gets the job done, but it doesn't mean that it doesn't need dharma, and Maharaj hasn't said that to make dharma wrong.

It is not said to make dharma wrong.

Maharaj says that if this devotion is such that it can do the work alone, then it is so.

But Maharaj says that if there is such devotion, it will never violate dharma.

It does not violate God's command.

The Gopis had extraordinary devotion, so they never violated Shri Krishna's command.

Mostly, the greed for dharma happens for immediate temptations.

Of dharma

The greed for dharma happens for immediate temptations.

So, how can one overcome those immediate temptations?

Don't have a strong desire to act immediately. Have a strong desire to act rightly.

Temptation

Benefit

They commit the sin of dharma for immediate gain.

This is correct. What kind of firmness is there that in immediate gain, gain

What kind of

What should be done so that one is not taken in by immediate gain?

Nirgunanand Swami said that one who is greedy for God, one who has a vision of God, will not be tempted in this world.

God

Our vision from God

It moves away to other places.

That's why we get tempted.

If we, what is that thing in this world that tempts us, that we are tempted by, in God, Nishkulanand Swami said that.

That one who understands the glory of God and the glory of God's pleasure, then he will not be tempted by other things immediately.

It won't happen.

If someone has come to become a new devotee, should they first strengthen their dharma or their devotion to God?

If there are new devotees, what should they strengthen first? I said that they should first be taught the do's and don'ts.

Maharaj said that in the beginning, one should be taught what to do and what not to do, that this is Maharaj's command and this is not Maharaj's command.

And then devotion.

Further on, that devotion, he doesn't understand devotion in the beginning, and if he becomes devoted in the beginning, then those do's and don'ts become a mess. So some people face tragedy, so in the beginning, he was told to teach the do's and don'ts, in the beginning.

Tragedy happens.

So in the beginning, he was told to teach the do's and don'ts.

Beginning.

That Maharaj has said in the Shikshapatri that this should not be done, suicide should not be committed.

You have to tell him in a straightforward way that suicide should not be committed.

Otherwise, he will die.

So he thinks that my Swaminarayan God has said something very good.

So then you have to tell him another command like this.

First, tell him about suicide, that he should not commit suicide.

If an action that appears to bring great benefit is devoid of dharma or contrary to scripture,

then it should not be done.

Dharma is an inspirer.

Therefore, conduct contrary to it is forbidden.

That which does not have dharma should be abandoned.

Because if you keep dharma, everything will remain.

It is said that dharma is the giver of all purusharthas.

If dharma is observed according to the scriptures, then it gives artha and kama.

If dharma is observed with a selfless attitude, without expecting any fruit, then it also gives moksha.

So to violate such dharma and to practice adharma is great.

Dharma also gives moksha.

Dharma gives both detachment and happiness.

One attains happiness through dharma.

Of what? Of wealth and enjoyment.

And dharma is detachment.

If he does not accept wealth and enjoyment.

And if he observes it selflessly, then that becomes devotion.

That very dharma, the established dharma, has become devotion.

The happiness that is attained through dharma,

then when is it said that one has renounced that happiness? Happiness is bound to come when dharma is observed.

One should not be tempted by enjoyment, nor become attached to it.

Don't make it a program just for enjoyment.

Suppose we got a good bungalow, a good car, then don't make it a program to use it for the rest of your life.

You should keep it aside for a while and attach yourself to God in the evening and morning.

If you stick to the car all day, how will you get anything?

And he stays stuck in the bungalow all day.

That all these cars and bungalows are not like that, everyone, whatever convenience there is, don't just stick to that, if children are convenient,

if family members are convenient, if all this wealth and resources are convenient.

To separate from them and attach oneself to God, to God.

Then it is said that he has renounced it, and dharma becomes detachment.

If dharma is observed with a selfless attitude, without expecting any fruit, then it also gives moksha.

To remain unattached.

Prosperity is obtained as a result of dharma.

As a result of dharma, one gets convenience.

But one should do devotion with a detached attitude.

Attachment should be to God.

So if one has attachment to God and remains unattached to the other, then it will bear fruit.

That which is there, it is obtained as a result of dharma.

All the prosperity and conveniences of this world are nowhere.

It is the fruit of the karma of a previous birth, that is, it is the fruit of dharma.

If one becomes detached and attaches oneself to God, then one becomes free from birth and death and goes to God.

If dharma is observed with a selfless attitude, without expecting any fruit, then it also grants moksha.

To transgress such dharma and to practice adharma is a great misfortune.

Shastriji Maharaj said that you are so many.

And at that time, Swami had about 80 disciples, and you serve diligently as I say, and if something is said by mistake, you present everything.

So if I become attached, then I am considered to have made a mistake.

If this is good and this is bad and this happens, then I am considered to have made a mistake.

My duty is to connect all of you with God.

So, if I find this more convenient and that causes an imbalance, then I am considered to have made a mistake.

That is called anasakta yoga.

Shastriji Maharaj used to say.

That strong weapon of detachment.

Then that supreme abode should be sought.

If one seeks the path of God.

Therefore, one should maintain a detached attitude.

We had nothing before, and now we have a lot, so people often become very attached to it.

And once uprooted, it cannot be uprooted.

So, don't keep that.

But one should attach oneself to God with a detached attitude.

Such.

Even if one has received worldly pleasures, one should use them with a detached attitude.

So Maharaj said, "Live in the house like a guest, my devotee."

He said that to the householder.

Live in the house like a guest, my devotee.

If guests come, one makes churma for them, makes everything nice, provides all facilities, and remains present in their service.

So what does that guest say?

Let's see when the ticket is available.

There are so many facilities here, so what's the problem? What sorrow do you have?

But he should not become attached to it.

He understands that this is not ours, we go home.

At home, everything is as if God's mercy has swept over everything.

Even then, if he goes home, he finds happiness.

And even though everything was good there, he says, "Let's go home."

So, live in the house like a guest, my devotee.

He told the sadhus that the devotees of Hari are endowed with the virtues of Hari, and they do not have pride in their liberated body.

If he has attained power like God, then he remains a servant of the servant.

He should not feel pride.

The meaning of not having pride is that the feeling of being a servant should not disappear from our hearts.

No matter what state one has reached, no matter how much one has received, and no matter what level or position one has attained, we should, on the contrary, be a servant of the servant, as Maharaj says.

To become a servant of God is fine.

But one should also remain a servant of the true devotees of God.

So he said that to the sadhu.

And he told the householder, "Live in the house like a guest, my devotee."

Then he is said to have lived with a detached attitude.

There should be no attachment.

But even if we talk about all that, it's not very easy.

It is difficult to give up after receiving.

Detachment remains until one has not received it.

Many have true detachment; if they haven't received it, they have such detachment that they bow down.

But to do this after receiving.

That is a quality of God.

It is said that the devotees of Hari are endowed with the virtues of Hari.

That is a quality of God.

What.

What preparation should be made?

No such preparation, one should make a resolution.

Resolution and prayer and starting plan.

Then that happens.

Where are the qualities of God?

If found, do not get bound anywhere.

One should not be bound even in one's own work.

God said that, didn't he?

This is what it says: "The fourfold caste system was created by Me according to the divisions of gunas and karma."

Know Me to be the doer of that, yet the non-doer and imperishable.

I am not attached anywhere at all.

Thus, he who knows Me.

Karmabhir sa na badhyate.

Namam karmani limpanti name karma phale spruha.

Itimam yobhi janati karmabhir sa na badhyate.

So that is God's quality.

And among God's devotees, those who have no 'dhayo puto' should come like this.

Who is called 'dhayo puto'?

Dhayo means wife and puto means children.

Those who have no 'dhayo puto' should have such a simple devotion to God.

If dharma is observed with a selfless attitude, without expecting any fruit, then it also grants moksha.

Then he attains moksha.

On the contrary, God becomes very pleased with him.

One who has nothing and clings to God, compared to one who has everything and leaves it all to cling to God, God becomes extremely pleased with them.

He is called a jnani, that 'this is my soul'.

Aise mere jan ekantik ehi sam aur na koi.

Muktanand kahat yu Mohan mero hi sarvasva soi.

God respects him as 'he is my soul'.

But to become like that, to become God's soul, is very difficult.

Instead, we barely manage to protect our own soul.

There is an online question: which is greater, the fruit of adopting the qualities of a saint or the fruit of dharma?

What?

Between the fruit of adopting the qualities of a true saint and the fruit of dharma, which is greater?

The fruit of adopting the qualities of a saint is bhakti.

And the fruit of dharma is happiness, and both things are mentioned.

If one does not take the fruit, God is pleased.

And if one adopts the qualities of a saint, God is pleased.

And that is called bhakti.

Adopting the qualities of a saint is called bhakti, it is called nishtha.

And the other is called dharma.

If dharma is observed with a selfless attitude, without expecting any fruit, then it also grants moksha.

Therefore, to violate such dharma and to practice adharma is a great calamity.

Even if a task appears to be beneficial, if it is forbidden by the scriptures, then that task should be abandoned.

Victory to Sahajanand Swami Maharaj.
