All you people, gather and listen to what happened after that: Prabhu came to Gadhada, having performed these pastimes across Gujarat.
Ghanshyam came to Gadhada, bringing all the sadhus with him; the people gathered, bowed, and fell at his feet, and all became sheltered.
Overjoyed, they folded their hands, and when the people sat gathered together, the dark-hued one lovingly called to them with affection.
"Are you all happy?" said Hari with love.
Then the people said, "We are happy, Prabhu, through your darshan."
Thus, speaking and listening to such talk, the days and nights passed in joy; he spoke ever-new things daily, and hearing them the people kept them in their hearts.
As three months passed in this way, the imperishable one then said, "Now let everyone go to Vartal; the companions there must be waiting."
Saying this, he made everyone ready, and all his companions, brothers and sisters, set out together.
They came to Kariyani, to Life himself, and the people there were overjoyed.
Then, sitting near him with folded hands, the imperishable one spoke: "Get ready, everyone — we go to Vartal to hold the festival."
Then Vasto Raghav spoke there: "Prabhu, hold the festival right here."
Saying this, they kept Maharaj there for the Hutashani festival.
Abundant gulal and colors were brought, and Nath played, holding nothing back; seeing Nath filled with color, all the people became sheltered.
Having held the festival at Kariyani in this way, he then went on to Sarangapani .
The Beloved arrived at Vartal before even a quarter of the day had passed.
Sadhus came, hearing that the Beloved was there, gathering to have darshan; companies of satsangis came, children, young people, and elders all with enthusiasm.
They brought worship offerings of many kinds, and with these they worshipped Prabhuji; Nath was pleased and everyone became happy, for Hari showed such great affection.
Then Nath said, "This time, let us build a proper foundation platform for a pavilion."
Then everyone said, "Very good indeed — we sadhus are all glad."
Then bricks were brought by everyone together, and Nath himself walked along with them; thus the platform was built day and night, with Hari giving darshan constantly.
In the evening the merciful one met with everyone, seeing their bodies soiled with work.
Thus the platform was completed, and the storehouse was filled full.
The Ramnavami festival arrived, and a festival was held that cannot be described.
Then Prabhuji came to Gadhada and called all the sadhus together.
A great Ashtami festival was held, giving happiness to all.
Then, keeping Dashera, Nath departed, taking the sadhus and satsangis with him.
Keshav went to Karmad village to hold the Ashkot festival; the festival was held, the sadhus were fed, and laddus were passed around as everyone sat in rows.
From there he went to Ahmedabad, increasing joy in the people's hearts.
Anand Swami had arrangements made, lovingly, to worship Prabhu; a fine set of trousers and a gold-brocaded robe, and a golden turban bound on his head.
A garland was placed splendidly around his neck, and incense, lamps, and arti were performed.
He fell at his feet, brought a shawl, and gave it, along with the sadhus, to be shared.
Having held this festival in joy, Prabhu himself departed.
He came to Asalali, Bhagwant himself, and ate there and fed the sadhus.
From there he came to Jetalpur, Nath, staying the night and eating with everyone.
Having eaten at Gamdi, Life came to Memdavad; staying the night, the Beloved spoke, then came to Vartal from there.
The Prabodhini festival was held, a festival that cannot be described.
He himself stayed there two months, calling for the sadhus' begging-bags to be brought.
Then from there he came to Gadhada, gathering the sadhus in joy; he sent them to Junagadh, but he himself stayed there.
He stayed there some days more, then his mind turned toward going to Vartal; he stayed at Kariyani, Chokdi, Dholera, and Pipaliya in this manner.
Having eaten at Kamiyala, he stayed at Vrasda, and from there Nath came to Vartal; having held the Ramnavami festival, he came back again to Gadhada.
Then, on the eighth day of Jyeshtha, Nath laid the foundation stone of the temple at Gadhada with his own hand; a fine, great temple was begun, an auspicious moment sought with great care.
He kept the sadhus with him for four months, then went to Ahmedabad with enthusiasm; he stayed at Kariyani and Sarangpur, then went from there to Vagad and Kantharia.
He stayed the night at Shiyani, Shyam, then went from Tavi to Devaliya village; from there Nath crossed the Nal river, staying the night on horseback with the sadhus.
Having eaten at Dadhuka, he stayed at Kunvar, then stayed the night at Manipur.
From there he came to Ahmedabad, and after staying briefly went to Asalali.
He held a debate there with Shankar for the sake of the argument, and Maharaj won the debate.
Then he came to Jetalpur village, and from there Shyam went on to Vartal.
He stayed there a while, Ghanshyam, then came to Gadhada village; coming, he began the temple's construction, working with great haste, not slowly.
He gave uninterrupted darshan there, being gracious toward the people.
He held the Fuldol festival there, the Beloved, then went to Vartal.
He stayed the night at Kariyani, then from there went by boat to Dholera; from Pipli he went to Varasda village, and from there came to Vartal, the abode.
Having held a fine Ramnavami there, devotees came for darshan; having accomplished many souls' purposes, Maharaj came back to Gadhada.
He undertook the temple's construction with great haste, working it with great speed.
He performed the Ashtami pastimes, the Beloved, and then went himself to Vartal.
He came to Sarangpur and Sundariyana, Shyam, and came to Dhandhuka via Khasta village.
Having eaten at Kamiyanu, he stayed at Boru, then from there went to Sinjivada village.
From there Life came to Vartal, to give darshan to his own people.
There the satsangi sadhus came, and lovingly beheld Bhagwant.
He himself had a fine meal prepared for the sadhus, and Hari served it, increasing his affection; jaggery laddus, jalebi, and sweet balls — Nath gave these with his own hand out of mercy.
"Take the laddus, sadhus, with love," he said, pressing them to eat.
He stayed there some days, then Life departed for Gadhada.
He stayed at Pipalav and Vatamana, then from there the Beloved came to Kamiyala; he stayed the night at Pipradi, then from there came to Kariyani village.
Then he came and stayed at Gadhada, and some days passed there.
Then a great officer summoned him, and he went by carriage to Rajkot.
There the officer showed him great honor, coming out to meet him and offering him a seat.
Then, sitting with love near Prabhu, he began asking questions with enthusiasm; he asked many questions with affection, and Nath gave answers to them all.
Hearing them with his own ears, the officer then spoke humbly: "You are just as great as I had heard, Swaminarayan.
Forgive my faults," he said, bowing his head.
Then Maharaj said, "Your rule is very good indeed — all the people have found happiness, there is no fear, conflict, or suffering.
But it is said among the people that Brahmins and cows suffer hardship."
Then the officer, hearing this, said, "We shall have this investigated by everyone together.
But within your own pilgrimage domain, I do not permit the killing of cows."
Having thus had his faults forgiven, he then lovingly brought a robe of honor.
Having offered the robe, he worshipped Nath's hands; then, taking leave, Nath departed.
Riding in the carriage, he arrived at Gadhada, giving darshan with increased affection.
His sadhus are exceedingly dear to him, and he gave them boundless happiness.
Then, seeing a good day for the sacred thread ceremony, he gave the thread to two boys.
Then, sitting beside a well near the temple, he had an incomparable well built.
Then the day of Ramnavami arrived, and everyone came for the festival.
The merciful one gave them darshan, spoke to them, and made them happy; having had darshan, the people went home, while he himself remained just as he was.
But his own sadhus are dear to him, and he gave them boundless happiness.
He accomplished many other great deeds, Shyam, displaying his own power.
The drums of knowledge and meditation resound — in this way he remained at Gadhada.
He stayed there thus, the imperishable one, and asked his own devotees questions; he told each their own dharma, and explained its inner meaning.
Then the temple at Junagadh was completed, and the greatly steadfast one went there.
Then the abode of happiness himself departed and came to stay at Vankiya village; from there he went to Sartanpur, then came to Junagadh.
Maharaj came there with grace, to install the images: Ranchhodji, Trikamji, Radharaman, and Siddheshwar — these images were installed, and a great festival was held there.
Then he met with all the sadhus, and came back to Gadhada village.
There the imperishable one stayed, giving happiness which all his devotees received.
Then the temple was completed, at a fine and auspicious moment.
He himself installed Gopinath there, saying, "I shall remain here — hear this account."
A great festival was held that day, and Life stayed on there afterward.
Then, having attained intense renunciation, he became free of all worldly desire; behaving as Jadabharat did, he too took up such a manner.
Sometimes he would not eat food at all, sometimes he would drink only air, living on fruit and flowers; sometimes he lived on roots, tubers, leaves, and water, casting aside all bodily attachment.
