Having performed these pastimes there, he then went on to Manavadar, comforting all; the merciful one stayed the night, ate a meal, and then Life departed from there.

Resting at Ganod village, he came to Jaliya, the beautiful, dark-hued one; he ate there together with the sadhus, and the people fed them with love.

Then the imperishable one departed from there, and the beautiful night shone brightly; going a distance along the way, the merciful one came to Dudhivadar.

A fine halva was prepared, and the whole company ate it; then, at a fine evening hour, Nath departed, taking the group with him.

Traveling through all four watches of the night, they came to Bandhiya, the beautiful, dark-hued one; they stayed the night in great joy, and Pranapati came to Pipaliya.

The devotee of Hari fed them there with love, the whole company of sadhus together; from there the beautiful Shyam departed and rested at Raypur.

From there they came to Vankiya village, giving darshan from village to village; from there they came to Gadhada and stayed three days there.

Then the merciful one departed from there and came to the compassionate one at Kariyani; there Nath spoke thus: "Sadhus, you go to Gujarat.

We shall install fine, blissful images at Vartal; for that purpose, have a temple built there, the finest and most beautiful of all."

Having explained the manner of it, he sent the sadhus off, saying, "Go and undertake it there."

Giving this instruction, he sent the sadhus on their way and himself came to Gadhada village.

From there he went toward Kutch Bhuj, to perform the installation of the divine hero; he gave darshan to all his devotees, for Prabhu is ever gracious toward his people.

Then, with great love, in the city of Bhuj, he seated Narayan Nar; a fine, favorable moment was found, on the fifth day of the bright half of Vaishakh — that day Lord Nar-Narayan was installed in the city of Bhuj.

Having done this great and auspicious work, he then came to Gadhada village.

Exceedingly merciful, boundless in compassion, exceedingly gracious, a treasury of grace — whatever Maharaj does is for the happiness of every soul.

He performs ever new deeds daily, and the people keep them in their thoughts; he holds great compassion for his devotees, the ocean of happiness, the beautiful form.

He grants darshan to his devotees, and the people watch with devotion; he speaks new things day after day, and hearing them, the wise are astonished.

Everyone receives extraordinary happiness, so many are the things the Beloved says; the days pass in joy, and the people sing the virtues of Govind.

An age passes like a moment, staying always near Bhagwan.

Thus, as time went on, Ashtami arrived — the pleasing day of Krishna's birth.

On this day of great festival, the sadhus at the encampment were called; the whole assembly of sadhus came, the great, pure liberated ones.

They came and fell at Prabhuji's feet, touching his feet, and could not contain their joy; the Beloved called them with great affection: "Sadhus, you have come well for the festival.

All you sadhus have gathered together — let no group be left behind."

The sadhus said, "All have come together; there may be one or two still on the way from distant lands."

Nath said, "They will come too," and, saying this, had a meal prepared; a fine, continuous meal was made, and the people ate joyfully.

As four days passed in this way, the auspicious day of Ashtami arrived; all the sadhus kept the vow together, along with the assembly of Sankhyayogi women.

They went to bathe, taking Nath with them, and bathed in the pure water; having bathed and come out, Nath said, "Listen, all of you together.

Everyone should take one stone each for Hari's temple, always; today we too shall take one, and worship Vasudev."

Then, under his golden turban, Nath himself took up one stone.

Having bathed in this way, Nath came home, and a devout devotee arrived at that time — a Vaishya named Venibhai, who brought worship offerings to worship Shyam: a pair of gold bracelets, offered by Nath's own hand, fulfilling his heart's desire.

Then the sadhus gathered and composed a dance, and the imperishable one played among the company of sadhus; thus the festival was held in joy, and the assembly of sadhus received happiness.

The next day, the ninth, arrived, and the people prepared a fine meal; for the sadhus, fine laddus and cashew sweets were made beyond counting.

Prabhuji himself served with his hand, with great love upon his own people; taking the laddus, he pressed them further, offering also fried sweets and flower-shaped confections that were passed around.

Sweetened milk with sugar was made and passed around with the food.

Thus the devotees were fed in proper order, and then the imperishable one spoke: "Listen, all you sadhus, the whole assembly — stay for the monsoon retreat and celebrate; do not go anywhere to beg, take your meals from the court itself."

Hearing the Beloved's word, all the sadhus rejoiced greatly; the merciful one gave darshan daily, and the sadhus, seeing Nath, received happiness.

There the clouds thundered and rained, peacocks and papiha birds cried out joyfully, frogs croaked in great delight, as though the assembly of sadhus had begun a chant of thunder.

Lightning flashed again and again, and the rain fell in an unbroken stream; the rivers filled with fresh water, exceedingly beautiful and pure.

Nath went daily to bathe there, taking the whole company of sadhus with him; when the people returned from bathing, each took one stone.

Adorned with these stones, the people made a fine sight, as though it were Rama's army marching.

Seeing this, the wicked burned with envy, whoever belonged to Ravana's kind.

Demons keep to the ways of demons, and sadhus keep to the ways of sadhus; the sadhus remain forever happy at heart, giving no thought to such matters.

Hearing the words from the Beloved's mouth, all doubt and sorrow vanished; ever new talk occurred, and hearing it, the days passed in joy.

Thus, amid such joyful pastimes, the monsoon retreat passed; the days of Dashera and Diwali arrived, and Bhagwan said a festival should be held.

Let me tell of the Ashkot festival — all the satsangis gathered there; the assembly of sadhus was nearby, and the sadhus arranged a row of lamps.

Thousands upon thousands of lamps burned, and the darkness gave way to light; the Beloved came and sat there, his enchanting form captivating all.

He shone in rich garments and ornaments, his form capturing the people's hearts; he smiled and looked upon the people, fulfilling the longing in their hearts.

The days passed in supreme joy, and the day of Annakut arrived; the offering was filled to overflowing, with the choicest foods and dishes.

It is beyond telling how much food was prepared — fresh greens without limit, vegetables without measure.

He ate with love by his own people's hand, then fed the assembly of sadhus.

Tightening his sash, Hari rose and arranged a great row for the sadhus; taking sweet laddus, the Beloved gave — if one asked for one, he gave three.

Sata, pedas, jalebi, and khaja, dal, magadal, and mesub in abundance, soft sev, lapsi, and shiro, kansar with sugar passed around — many kinds of fritters were made in ghee, fenugreek gathiya and flower-shaped sweets were prepared, and fine vegetables were served in the row — thus the people were fed with great care and order.

Then Nath said, "Listen — now everyone should go to Gujarat.

Prabodhini is only a few days away; let us all go together in a group.

Lakshmiji and Narayan themselves will be installed at Vartal."

Having given this instruction, the Beloved delighted the whole company, who accepted it joyfully.

He kept the sadhus with him, giving them happiness, from the fourth day of the dark half of Shravan; from there he kept the assembly of sadhus until the second day of the bright half of Kartik.

The festival was held for that many days, and the sadhus ate food they loved.

Blessed are the two devotees Jaya and Lalita, who so pleased Prabhu.
